Whenever we can, absolutely. Early arrivals and late departures are based on availability. Please reach out to our front desk in advance — or whisper it at check-in, we love a good secret request.

Unfortunately, The Douglas does not allow guests under 21 years old.

The Douglas is located just about 11 miles from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, approximately a 24-minute drive by car.

We understand travel plans sometimes change unexpectedly, and we appreciate your understanding as a small, independently operated property. Each reservation plays an important role in how we plan and staff our team, allowing us to provide a high level of service to all guests.

To confirm your stay, a non-refundable deposit equal to one night’s stay will be charged seven (7) days prior to arrival. Once this deposit has been processed, reservations become non-refundable and cannot be canceled or modified.

Valet parking is available for all overnight guests. Just pull up to our front entrance on East Oglethorpe Avenue and we’ll take care of the rest. You can reserve parking when you book your stay.

Yes, guests with electric vehicles can use the charging stations available in our valet garage.

Please refrain from smoking, as this is a smoke-free hotel. If you smoke in your room, a smoking fee will be applied.

Not inside each room — but on every floor, you’ll find a thoughtfully stocked complimentary mini bar with cold beverages, snacks, and essentials to make you feel at home. Think of it as your neighborhood pantry down the hall — help yourself, anytime.

We don’t offer traditional room service. The Douglas is designed more like a private residence than a conventional hotel — so instead, you’ll find inviting common areas, our bar, and our stocked floor pantries for a quick grab-and-go. Need a late-night bite? We’re happy to recommend our favorite local spots that deliver. Also! Our restaurant Lester’s will be opening in early 2026, offering lunch and dinner daily. 

We don’t have a gym on site — but we do have plenty of recommendations for scenic jogs, local yoga studios, and wellness experiences nearby. Savannah itself is our favorite way to stretch your legs.

Savannah is best explored on foot — charming squares and cobblestone streets included. For longer jaunts, we offer bikes!
