Room Seventeen
Room Seventeen is located in The Douglas’s Annex, just next door to the main house. Set above Lester’s, it carries a slightly different rhythm. Close, but distinctly its own. With no shared spaces in the building, the experience leans quieter, more private.
Room Seventeen occupies the full first floor and stands as the largest single-bedroom suite at The Douglas. Nearly sixteen-foot ceilings give the space an undeniable presence, yet the design ensures it never feels stark. The scale is softened by texture, upholstery, and warmth.
The bedroom is anchored by a fully upholstered bed in patterned fabric, layered with crisp white linens and subtle color drawn from the room itself. Drapery, generous rugs, and tailored seating in dusty rose tones create a composition that feels settled and intentional.
A true one-bedroom layout separates the sleeping quarters from a substantial living room. The living space is arranged for conversation and comfort, large enough to host a quiet drink from the wet bar or settle in for the evening without feeling adrift within the volume. Art and built-in elements give the architecture rhythm and permanence.
The bathroom is equally expansive. A deep soaking tub and a separate walk-in shower define the space, while dual sinks allow each guest their own pace in the morning. It is a bath designed to feel like a room in its own right.
With the entire floor to itself, Room Seventeen offers privacy on a rare scale. Its impact comes not only from height and proportion, but from the balance of grandeur and softness that makes the suite feel lived in rather than displayed.
